What it doesn't do
There are no accounts or sign-ins, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party code. Nothing you enter, and nothing about how you use the app, is sent to anyone, including the developer. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children either.
The iPhone app runs entirely from files inside the app and makes no network requests. The website loads its own files from GitHub Pages and makes no other requests: no fonts, scripts or images from anywhere else.
What stays on your device
Frame Designer remembers the design you're working on and the designs you save, so they're there next time. They're kept only on your device:
- On the website, in your browser's storage for this site. Other browsers and devices don't see them, and clearing the site's data deletes them. The website also keeps a copy of its own files in the browser so it opens offline.
- In the iPhone app, in the app's own storage on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
You can delete a saved design at any time under Saved designs.
Sharing
Nothing leaves your device unless you send it. On the website, Copy link puts the design inside the link itself, after the #, which browsers don't send to the server. Copy as text, and Share in the iPhone app, hand the cut list to the place you pick, such as Notes, Messages or Mail; from there it's up to that app.
Hosting and Apple
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may log technical details such as your IP address when your browser asks for the pages; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement. Frame Designer doesn't receive those logs.
The iPhone app comes from Apple's App Store. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may pass on anonymous crash reports, under Apple's privacy policy.

If any of this changes, this page will say so first, with a new date at the top.
